About The Artist

Mala Art with Heart

Introducing Teresa, an artisan whose journey into the world of jewelry began with an early fascination for stones. Infused with a profound appreciation for the stories and traditions surrounding jewelry as symbolic adornments, Teresa approaches her craft with a unique blend of passion and expertise.

With bachelor’s degrees in both English and religion, Teresa seamlessly weaves linguistic and spiritual elements into her creations. Her extensive knowledge of stones, complemented by a decade of experience as a yoga teacher and certifications as a Reiki Master Teacher, lends a harmonious and holistic touch to each piece.

What Drew Me to Making Malas?

What first drew me to malas was a desire to build a meditation practice that felt accessible. Sitting in silence for long periods was difficult for me, and mala meditation offered something tangible; a way to ground attention through touch, breath, and repetition.

Working with a mala provided structure without rigidity. The movement from bead to bead created a steady rhythm that supported focus and mindful breathing, especially on days when stillness felt out of reach. In a world that often feels overwhelming and fast-moving, this practice helped me return to something simpler: sitting, breathing, and paying attention.

Over time, the physical act of working with beads, the weight, the repetition, the quiet rotation, became deeply meaningful. Mala meditation also offers a natural sense of completion. One full round of 108 beads marks a pause, a moment to reflect. How many rounds you choose, or how you work with your mala, is entirely personal.

That sense of choice, presence, and connection continues to guide how I design each piece.

Warm regards,
Teresa

A Path to Wholeness

Om Purnam adahpurnam idam
Purnat purnam udacyate
Purnasya purnam adaya

Purnam evavisyate
Om Shanti Shanti Shanti

Translation:

That is whole, this is whole.

From the whole, this whole came.

Remove this whole from that whole,

What remains is still whole.

Om peace peace peace.

There are numerous routes to wholeness, and they’re rarely straight. Along this journey, I’ve encountered pitfalls and decoys, potholes, stumbling blocks, hurdles, and catch-22s. Yet, amid all these challenges, there is also joy and a simple awareness of being present in that joy. In embracing this presence, I’ve discovered a profound level of acceptance.

Why not give it a try? A simple mantra recitation, like “I deserve joy,” is powerful enough. Because, in truth, you do deserve joy.

Hold in your mind.

It has been my journey, not a yearning for permission to experience joy. To seize a moment, a breath, a pinpoint of time to simply exist. Just to be in it, enveloped by it, wholly encompassed by it, utterly held by it;

and the awareness, the confidence that it’s okay to surrender to the embrace. To deeply comprehend with every fiber of your being that there are no dues to be paid to deserve joy. It is your birthright, inherent in your very existence.
