Stone Size: 6mm, Guru Bead: 1 1/2 inches Faceted Spiral

Cord Color: Pink

Mantra:

Om Aim Saraswatyai Namaha!

Mantra meaning: Om and salutations to Saraswati, the goddess of intelligence, wisdom, knowledge, and unbounded creativity.

Length: 18 inches

I crafted this mala during the three nights of Navaratri associated with Saraswati.

I selected white and gold stones, along with a pink cord, to represent the colors associated with Saraswati.

Clear Quartz:

Clear quartz has been revered through the ages as an amplifier of one’s intentions and is symbolic as a stone of light. Quartz is most commonly used for cleansing, clearing, and amplifying one’s intentions from the most gross (the physical) to the most subtle (absolute bliss).

Mother of Pearl:

In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, pearls are used in malas to pacify. It is said that pearls bring peace to the wearer by purifying the mind and clearing both physical and mental obstacles like illness, bad karma, and mental obscurations.

Pyrite:

Pyrite is associated with the Manipura (Solar Plexus) chakra. It represents willpower and the ability to boost one’s resolve to accomplish tasks in the physical world. Pyrite is also used to break habits, establish new, more positive patterns, and create harmony in one’s world.

Malas are used as a meditation tool; usually, an intention or mantra is recited with the turn of each bead. Each mala I create is designed with a purpose. I select beads based on quality, color, and energetic compatibility for that purpose. Each mala is given a Sanskrit mantra, sprayed with Sage oil, and blessed on my quartz stone altar.
